Christmas Party 2017

Our church Christmas party for 2017 is now in the books! We had food, fellowship, and fun for all! While we were there a visitor from the North Pole dropped by, looking for some last-minute gift ideas from children of all ages. He left with a list as full as that sleigh is going to be tonight!

During the party pictures were taken; you are welcome to download these pictures and print them out yourself or using a service. Photos of the adult visitors are freely available at this link; for photos of the children you will need to have the password which we will give you at church and go to this link.

Hallelujah Gumbo! 2017 – November 5th!

Airway Baptist’s annual Hallelujah Gumbo! celebration will be held this year on Sunday afternoon, November 5th, 2017, from 3 pm to 6 pm. We’ll have lots of gumbo and rice, plus corn dogs for those who may not be partial to the Cajun specialty!

In addition to the food, there will be plenty of activities. Face painting, games, cake walk, candy, and more! Also, even though it’s after Halloween, you’re welcome to show up in your costumes!

Donations of candy and 2-liter sodas are welcomed.

Hurricane Harvey Update

I personally apologize for being remiss about updating this site over the past several months and especially since the damage wrought by Hurricane Harvey. The church facilities did take damage including about 6-8 inches of flood water throughout the main building.

Since that time the congregation with the help of outside volunteers and some generous contributions of money and materials has worked to repair the damage. We opened the walls to dry out the cavities and remove soaked insulation, and since then we have been in the process of replacing sheetrock.

At the present time the church continues to hold regular services on Sunday mornings and on Wednesday evenings. Sunday worship service is currently being held in the fellowship hall but we should be able to move back into the main sanctuary near the end of October. Come and stop on by!—-Eric Bowen.

AIRWAY BAPTIST ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Airway Baptist Annual Christmas Party is always held the last Sunday evening before Christmas.

As we are always reminded that Christ is the reason for the season, we will celebrate the coming of our Lord and Savior.

Our celebration will include food and fun for everyone. Santa will come to visit with children of all ages and give out fruit bags.

Join us for this special time of Christian fellowship, Sunday, December 18, 2016, at 6pm. We look forward to seeing you!

—ALSO—

That same Sunday morning we will be having our Sunday School Christmas Brunch. We’ll be starting a little earlier than our regular time so as to have our regular Sunday School after everyone has a chance to eat. Join us at 9:30 am the morning of Sunday, December 18th—and bring a breakfast item if you can!

Church Break-in

After a successful “Hallelujah Gumbo” dinner and festival, in the early morning hours of October 23rd the church was broken into by unknown persons. They took groceries, kitchen supplies and equipment, and a few miscellaneous electronics. They had our speakers and sound equipment all boxed up and staged at the door, ready to haul away:

However, at that point something or someone must have scared them away, as they took off from our property leaving the door open and our sound equipment still stacked up by the exit! And that’s how we found things when we arrived for worship this morning.

As we noted in our service today, it seems that when God is truly moving Satan can always be trusted to attack. We thank our God for defending us and seeing that this matter was no more serious than it was. Please join us in praying for the perpetrators and asking God to grant them discipline, justice, and the opportunity for repentance and salvation.
